The Nike Zoom Freak 3 x UNO “University Red/Black/Green Apple” men’s and grade school kids’ sizes launch April 16 at Hibbett | City Gear.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is known for his big wins on the court. But it turns out the Milwaukee Bucks’ power forward is also a big winner at the popular card game UNO.

The Greek Freak’s love of playing UNO with his brothers inspired him to collaborate with the Mattel brand for a new collection to celebrate the game’s 50th anniversary. The Nike Freak 3 x UNO collection features five vibrant shoes, all modeled after the game’s classic colors.

Bright red covers most of this shoe’s upper, save for a few multicolor details scattered throughout. For example, the Nike Swoosh below the ankle collar is bright blue, along with a stripe on the midsole. You’ll also find bright blue laces standing out against a yellow tongue. To finish off the classic color combo, there’s a bright green outsole.

While it’s pretty clear the palette was inspired by UNO, there is some unique branding to drive the point home. You’ll see two UNO cards on the medial ankle below the Swoosh — a green “3” and yellow “4” to symbolize Giannis’ numbers on the court. There is additional UNO branding on the tongue, along with an UNO card trim around the ankle collar.

The Nike Freak 3 is where it’s at as far as basketball shoes go. Breathable fabric keeps little feet from getting too sweaty as they navigate the hardwood for the first time, while an TPU strap keeps their feet locked down for additional stability. All in all, this makes it great for a mini baller testing out the game, but the bold style also works for those on the sidelines. Just pair it with their favorite athletic wear, like shorts or joggers, for a look that will turn heads.

You won’t want to play a Skip card for this Nike Freak 3 x UNO release. This colorway will be dropping in men’s and grade school kids’ sizes April 16 online and at your local Hibbett | City Gear.
