The Nike Zoom Freak 4 “Etched in Stone” colorway drops in mens, grade school and preschool kids’ sizes January 1 at Hibbett | City Gear.
Based on his historic play for the Milwaukee Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo is surely bound for the NBA’s history books. Perhaps that’s the inspiration for the latest colorway of his new signature line.
The Nike Zoom Freak 4 “Etched in Stone” comes in a mix of Wolf Grey, Cool Grey, white and black. It so closely resembles its name that you might forget it’s one of the lightest basketball shoes on the market.
A lighter gray upper covers most of the shoe, with patches of fused gray overlays surrounding the toe box and eyestays. Beneath this is a chunky gray midsole with white paint flecks on it. Ripple patterns along the side of the heel lead to some heel midsole branding. On the left shoe, you’ll see the Greek Freak’s signature, and on the right shoe, a double-headed snake inside a circle.
On the lateral edge, there’s a reverse Swoosh that soars up from the midsole, outlined in the same gray and white speckled material. The Swoosh itself is gray with a black message printed on it: “The One Who Believed Would Become Unbelievable.”
On the medial side, the midsole doesn’t come up quite as high, but it’s still very prominent. In place of the reverse Swoosh is a standard Swoosh, this time smaller and in white embroidery closer to the heel. On the heel itself is more branding. The left shoe reads “Freak” in black embroidery, while the right shoe features Giannis’ custom logo.
You’ll see even more branding on the tongue. The left shoe features a white compass, while the right shoe again includes Giannis’ logo. Where the shoe really starts feeling like a party is the outsole. It’s a mix of white and black marbled swirls that really pops in a sea of gray. In particular, the wavy tread pattern on the bottom makes the Oreo mixture look even more intense.
Your grade school kid would look amazing wearing this to their basketball tournament. Their opponents would cower before your little baller, whether they’re wearing their team’s uniform or something more stylish. We recommend pairing them with black basketball shorts and a red T-shirt for a bit of color.
Be a freak on the court with the Nike Zoom Freak 4 “Etched in Stone.” It’s dropping just in time to start the year off on the right foot. Grab it on January 1 in men’s, grade school kids’ sizes, and preschool sizes online or at your local Hibbett | City Gear.If you’re spending your New Year’s Day away from retail and miss the release, we’ve got plenty of other upcoming sneaker launches for you to browse!
