Even though LeBron James is most well-known for his prowess on the court, The Goat also has a deep interest in music. He’s appeared on several albums in the past and has even expressed an interest in producing an album one day.
We’ve seen this colorway in previous LeBron iterations—like the Witness 6 “DJ Bron”— so it’s not a totally new palette. Still, the color blocking has been reworked for a design that feels fresh.
A purple mesh upper covers the majority of the shoe for a colorful pop. However, certain accents keep it from being monochromatic. The TPU clip at the midfoot comes in a stark black, as does the accompanying midsole. This plastic clip has King James branding on the lateral side and a cutout Nike Swoosh on the medial side.
A transparent panel at the ankle and heel pays tribute to the Air unit designs of the past. On the lateral side of this design is a small pink Swoosh, while the heel has additional pink branding. The laces are where things get interesting. They’re bright pink and stand out beautifully against the purple tongue. There’s also a small crown logo in bright teal at the top of the lace box. The purple tongue has another transparent emblem with embossed words above it, along with black edging.
Moving down, you’ll see the transparent Max Air unit just above the bright teal outsole. This outsole features a micro-engineered blade pattern for superior traction, along with a small pink crown logo at the heel.
LeBron has outdone himself with this bright and bold basketball shoe that almost feels like it belongs in the ’90s. Celebrate that by pairing it with other bright and bold pieces. Stick with clothes in one of the three featured colors—pink, purple and teal—or go crazy by adding a fourth (or fifth!) bright tone into the mix. We’re thinking maybe a lime green hoodie paired with orange shorts?
