These impressive athletes sprinted their way towards victory, crossing finish lines and shattering glass ceilings in their respective events.
Like the powerhouse women who inspired them, adidas’ newest sneakers are a force to be reckoned with, thanks to an unapologetic design and supreme comfort for casual wear. This March 4, the adidas Choigo will debut in a white, Core Black and Frozen Green color palette, exlusively in women’s sizes.
Just before the starting gun sounds, runners’ fingers graze the dusty track as their bodies slide into a crouching position, readying for push-off. The adidas Choigo’s soft, uplifted midsole mirrors this pre-race position, preparing wearers for greatness. The thick, tapered white midsole base informs the sneaker’s entire design. White, which symbolizes fresh starts and endless possibilities, plays prominently on the upper as well, offering a clean, retro-inspired aesthetic to this silhouette.
In addition to 1980s track and field icons, the adidas Choigo also takes design cues from the rise of the Shanghai breakdancing and hip-hop scene prevalent in the same decade. Frozen Green accents outline the midsole and the Three Stripes, while the color gets remixed in a wash of pastel yellow and pink tones along the tubular laces, eye stays and ankle collar. A buttery yellow outlines the toe and white mudguards, and jagged rubber track-like spikes emanate from the sides of the foot.
A ladder lacing technique keeps the foot in place, whether you’re on the go during the day or dancing your heart out come evening. Proclaim your love of dance with the dance tags that rest at the bottom of the lacing system. The adidas Choigo invites women of all ages and walks of life to mix it up, be fearless and be bold.
