The Jordan 4 is the first basketball shoe in MJ's signature line to have over-molded mesh. On this particular colorway, that mesh is a bold white against a black background. The rest of the upper, including the front mudguards, is a creamy white leather.
Black TPU ankle support wings connect to Vivid Sulfur waffle eyelets. These hold white laces in place over a white tongue. A Vivid SulfurJumpman, complete with a black His Airness signature, finishes off the tongue branding.
The collar and insole are the same striking yellow hue, with a black Jumpman on the insole. Also of note is the yellow Jumpman on the heel flying across a black overlay. On the OG shoes, this was a Nike Air logo, but modern renditions have switched it out for the trusty Jumpman.
Beneath the upper is a molded black midsole support. In the creamy white midsole, you'll see the tell-tale Air unit in the heel — the air unit that just might have given Jordan the lift he needed when he made his iconic "Shot" during game five of the 1989 NBA Playoffs.
The rubber outsole is pretty standard, with a trifecta of colors. There's off-white at the toe and heel, a patch of black at the forefoot and instep, and Vivid Sulfur on the midfoot.
