A good tennis shoe offers stability, support for quick starts and stops, traction and durability. Here are some things to keep in mind when searching for that perfect tennis shoe:

  • Allow a thumbnail’s width between the end of the longest toe and the end of the inside of the shoe. Your heel can move slightly within the shoe, but should not slip.
  • Select your outsole pattern based on how and where you plan to wear the shoe. For example, herringbone for increased traction on a hard court; hobnail for more traction on softer surfaces like grass; and pivot point in the front of the shoe for easier turning during game play.
  • Look for removable insoles for easy cleaning and replacement options.
  • Watch for good materials. Our shoes offer a combination of leather or synthetic leather and mesh for strength and lightweight breathability.
  • Choose shoes with straps and sturdy heel cups to help prevent ankle turns. An added leather piece on the front of the toe also helps reduce wear.
