Nike Air Jordan Why Not Zero.6. “Family” Shoe Dropping 4/5

Mar 29, 2023

Speed is the name of Russell Westbrook’s game, which is likely why the sixth version of his signature shoe with Jordan Brand features a super-high outsole that wraps nearly up past the midsole. Another key feature of the Jordan Why Not Zer0.6 Colorways that tell stories about the Los Angeles Clippers point guard’s life.

Such is the case with the new Jordan Why Not Zer0.6 in Metallic Gold, black and white colorway. While there’s no official word yet on the inspiration behind this basketball shoe, we can’t help but notice it strongly resembles “Family” colorways of the Zer0.3 and Zer0.4, just with an updated twist. Whatever the case, it’s dropping April 5 in men’s sizes.

In addition to having the same color scheme as previous “Family” colorways, this new kick also shares the same “Family” symbol that’s meant to honor different members of Westbrook’s family, including his father, son and brother. You’ll see it in gold on the black tongue — but only once you unzip the asymmetrical zipper guard. There’s also a black tongue tab here with a white Jumpman.

This black zipper strip wraps all the way around the heel, and for a fun twist, also reads “Why Not” in repeating letters built into the zipper’s teeth.

The rest of the upper is crafted from black technical ripstop fabric. It’s very transparent, so you can see the white base and black lockdown straps beneath.

The heel has a solid black overlay with a golden Jumpman on the lateral side. The black heel tab includes a white Jumpman on top of a golden Westbrook symbol. There’s another Westbrook symbol on the black trimming that outlines the jagged midsole on the lateral forefoot.

The white midsole itself looks like jagged mountain peaks. Right below it, nearly halfway up the shoe, is the black and white marbled and textured rubber outsole that’s meant to give you traction at all speeds and in all directions.

The slight golden touches on this otherwise black and gold shine truly make it shine. Make it shine even more with the right attire. We’re thinking black crew socks with matching black basketball shorts and a white jersey. Complete the look with a gold medal after you win your community’s rec league championship.

The Jordan Why Not Zer0.6 in Metallic Gold, black and white is a fresh take on the current world of basketball shoes.
