The adidas Forum 84 High “White/Off-White/Clear Sky” men’s shoe launches August 15 at Hibbett | City Gear.
There’s hardly an NCAA color combination more instantly iconic than the University of North Carolina pale blue. And now, adidas is channeling that palette to create a shoe inspired by Michael Jordan’s alma mater.
The adidas Forum ’84 High “UNC” comes in a striking white and blue color combo that will have Tar Heels fans salivating. This throwback kick is hitting stores in men’s sizes starting Aug. 15.
The main base of the shoe is a creamy leather, but it’s mostly covered with white leather overlays around the toe tip, eyestays, middle, ankle and heel. There’s the typical Three Stripes in light blue suede across the middle, as well as the adidas Trefoil on the lateral ankle. That same light blue Trefoil appears again on the white tongue tab, as well as on the back of the tongue.
You’ll have a choice of three laces when you snag this shoe—light blue, cream or white. All three look great underneath the white ankle strap that wraps around the front of the tongue. Light blue ankle padding offers comfortable support with the high fit.
A creamy midsole shows its stitch lines around the circumference of the shoe—perhaps a nod to the worn, neo-vintage movement. You’ll see circular traction patterns underfoot, along with more adidas branding at the midfoot and heel.
Originally a basketball shoe, the Forum ’84 is better suited to casual use in today’s world. While the X-ankle strap was once revolutionary, with today’s fast paced game, you probably need something with a little more flex. That’s totally fine, because these look just as good courtside.
Dress them up with matching pale blue crew socks and your favorite Tar Heels jersey. Even if you’re not a fan of UNC, we think these would look good with other pastel colors for a fresh look.
Enjoy the cloud-like appearance of these UNC-inspired shoes the next time you’re wanting to show off your aesthetic. You’ll certainly be floating high with style points. They’ll be dropping in men’s sizes on August 15, online and at your local Hibbett | City Gear.
