The Jordan 3 Retro “White/Fire Red/Black” colorway drops in men’s, grade school kids’, preschool kids’ and toddler kids’ sizes September 10 at Hibbett | City Gear.
Remember when the Jordan 3 first came out in 1988? It had four original colorways, one of which was called “Fire Red.” Finally, that OG colorway is making a comeback in a big way.
The AJ Retro 3 “Fire Red” is a true replica of the ’88 shoe. Previous retros from 2007 and 2013 were similar but replaced the Nike Air logo with the Jumpman. This shoe, however, returns back to the Nike Air logo in all its glory. Even better, it’s dropping in full family sizing for men, grade school kids, preschool kids and toddlers on September 10.
As we mentioned, you’ll see bright red Nike Air branding on the heel that clashes nicely with the white leather upper. There’s also a strip of the classic gray on black elephant print below this branding that wraps around the heel. This overlay appears again at the toe.
White laces lock into red grommets as well as a silver eyestay panel. If you were worried about the lack of Jumpman logos, fear not, as there is still a red one on the tongue. Gray ankle padding gives way to a red insole with white Nike Air branding. Additional red accents throughout, like the ventilated patch at the outer ankle and midsole molds that go from the heel to the midfoot, give this shoe an even brighter pop.
Naturally, you’ll also see the visible Air unit in the white heel. The translucent panel sits atop a gray outsole with red pivot traction circles and a red Nike on the heel.
While this shoe is as close to the OG as we’re ever going to get, that doesn’t mean you have to style it like you’re still in the ’80s. Stay modern with tapered gray joggers, neon crew socks, and your favorite black hoodie. You’ll also look fresh with jeans and a vintage shirt — the choice is all yours.
