Sneakers Release – Jordan 5 Retro “Moonlight” Black/Cool Grey/White Men’s & Kids’ Colorway Launching 9/25

Autumn is in the air, and crisp fall evenings aren’t quite complete without a big bright moon backdropped by a pitch-black night sky. We may still be dreaming of cooler weather, but the magic of moonlight is on the horizon. Jordan Brand is dropping a once-in-a-blue-moon colorway of the Air Jordan 5 silhouette.

Launching on September 25, the “Moonlight” AJ 5 Retro throws it back to a similar rendition from 2013 and will be available in full family sizing for men, grade school kids, preschool kids and toddlers.

Looking at this colorway, you’ll notice how clean and fresh it is. The black nubuck upper looks soft enough to touch, interrupted only by some white translucent netting in the side panels and under the laces.

The AJ 5 comes with a black lace toggle that stays secured with a transparent Jumpman sheath. Above that, the satin black tongue displays another Jumpman logo, this time in gray. You’ll see more white Jumpman logos on the heel and insole.

Fluffy white ankle padding is almost reminiscent of the wispy white clouds that sometimes cover the night sky. The white midsole also plays on this look, especially with the jagged black lines at the forefoot. You’ll catch a small glimpse of the Air unit through the window at the heel, but then the shoe gives way to a translucent outsole. Naturally, it features the same herringbone pattern MJ loved, though don’t feel bad if you’re not taking these basketball shoes on the hardwood.

The whole shoe—designed by Tinker Hatfield, naturally—was inspired by a World War II Mustang fighter jet. You can definitely tell with its sleek lines and sharp styling. Because it’s so suave, you can wear this shoe with any sort of casual gear—T-shirts, shorts, joggers, you name it. Throw them on with basketball shorts and a Jordan jersey, and you’ll be ready to flex your streetwear fashion sense.

This shoe is anticipated to sell out quickly, so make sure you get a piece of the action as soon as it launches. The Jordan Retro 5 “Moonlight” colorway hits stores in men’s, grade school kids, preschool kids’ and toddler kids’ sizes on September 25, online and at your local Hibbett | City Gear.
