Want to get in the game and look good while doing it? The Air Jordan April release received the regal, Court Purple touch. Meet the game-changing “Game Royal” palette for May, out May 9 in both grade school boys’ and men’s sizes.
Nike’s Peter Moore created the inaugural pair of high-top Air Jordans back in 1985. Not only did the sneaker pair well with his Bulls’ uniform, but it also supported Michael Jordan’s game-changing moves. And it was the shoe that launched decades of Air Jordan sneakers. Today, the Air Jordan 1 remains as relevant as it did 35 years ago.
The “Game Royal” release includes a royal blue toe box peppered with the signature AJ1 perforations. Black outlining gives the shoe its edge and runs around the toe, throat, tongue and lacing system. It also covers the large side Swooshes and encircling the heel. While darker colors dominate this sneaker’s colorway, white plays at the sides — providing a backdrop for the large Swoosh branding — and runs along the midsole, which houses the fully encapsulated Air-Sole unit.
Flex grooves and the signature concentric pattern characterize the solid blue cupsole, which allows for those “stop on a dime and prepare for lift-off” moves. Plush padding anoints the shoe’s sockliner for plenty of ankle support, and vintage Jumpman branding — like the original Wings logo and Nike Air insignia on the nylon tongue — remains the same as the 1985 original.
It’s game time. Get your head and your feet game-ready with the power of the Jumpman. Order online or pick up curbside at Hibbett | City Gear for the “Game Royal” Air Jordan 1 sneaker offered in grade school boys’ and men’s sizing.
