When Hibbett and Jordan Brand launched Cleared for Takeoff, it wasn’t just about sneakers, sport, or style. It was about what happens when culture, opportunity, and giving intersect. At its core, the series celebrates people chasing new heights—while ensuring communities have the support to rise with them.
Across activations, Hibbett and Jordan have turned inspiration into tangible impact. Youth have been surprised with sneakers, gift cards, and moments with their heroes—reminders that they are seen, valued, and capable of greatness.
Student designers have had their art featured on apparel worn by thousands, proving that creativity deserves a platform. Girls’ programs and community camps have been supported with gear, mentorship, and resources, widening access to opportunities often out of reach.
Even simple gestures, like gifting bikes and backpacks to young girls, carry a deeper message: that joy, confidence, and possibility should be accessible to every child.
Since its inception, Cleared for Takeoff has made a big impact in our communities. Take a look at some of our favorite moments!
Bryce Young "Gratitude" Event

Made possible in partnership with WINGS and the Carolina Youth Coalition, each child walked away a new pair of the Air Jordan 11 "Gratitude," autographs and pictures with Bryce, and a $1000 Hibbett gift card meant to Clear them for Takeoff for the next year ahead.

The phrase “cleared for takeoff” reflects more than ambition—it represents self-belief, resilience, and the idea that greatness is never achieved alone. That’s why each activation in the series blends storytelling with action: surprising kids with once-in-a-lifetime experiences, investing in grassroots organizations, and shining a light on leaders who give back as much as they achieve.
What makes Cleared for Takeoff stand apart is its balance of storytelling and sustained community investment. It’s not just about a single giveaway or event. By partnering with organizations like Jordan WINGS, Carolina Youth Coalition, and grassroots leaders, Hibbett and Jordan ensure their efforts ripple outward—building confidence, sparking creativity, and creating systems of support.
In sneaker and streetwear culture, authenticity is everything. Cleared for Takeoff shows that true authenticity isn’t just in style—it’s in service. When brands use their platforms to give back, the results go beyond fashion; they help shape futures. Hibbett and Jordan aren’t just documenting culture with Cleared for Takeoff. They’re helping to build it—one act of giving, one story, and one flight at a time.
Our heroes didn’t follow paths, so we don’t either. Flight for us means going where no one has, whether physically or stylistically. Self-belief makes us crave the unknown and find excitement in fear. We champion the pioneers who take culture and sport to new heights. We ask ‘why not’ and work to make the world better, encouraging others to do the same. And we see your style as radically being yourself in open conversation with the moment in time.
