Sometimes words just don’t adequately convey a mood. That’s when emojis come in hot, saving the day without saying a thing, whether it’s laughing-crying at your bestie’s latest autocorrect fail, sending puke faces to your study buddy or giving hearts to your mom.
That’s why you can — and should — celebrate National Emoji Day. Yes, it’s a real thing and, no, we didn’t make it up. When is National Emoji Day? July 17, but it all started back in 2014 when emojis were still kind of a new thing in texts. To commemorate this holiday, here are a few outfits inspired by our favorite emojis:
Play it cool with a fit that starts with Ray-Ban shades. Add a happy yellow Nike shirt, comfy black shorts and a pair of emoji-esque sneaks. With their smiley face and yellow colorway, these Nike VaporMax shoes were made for Emoji Day.
Get ready to rhumba (get it?) in a red adidas dress with a sporty fit, spaghetti straps and signature Three Stripes along the sides. No heels? No problem! Stay light on your feet with a pair of Flyknit Nike Air VaporMax kicks, and queue up your favorite Spotify playlist.
Play twinsies with your ride-or-die and bunny ears are not required. Get your sparkle on with women’s black Juicy Couture dress or men’s Grindhouse black denim shorts, a black adidas tank, black socks and black shoes.
There are plenty of things to get angry about, but this fit ain’t one of them. Channel your rage into a pair of stylish orange Nike Huaraches, and pair them with an orange adidas Cropped hoodie and orange bike shorts. If a tonal orange outfit isn’t your thing, mix it up with a men’s AKOO orange polo, men’s denim shorts and orange UGG slides.
Emojis are colorful, playful and fun. Let Hibbett | City Gear help you celebrate all things National Emoji Day on July 17 by finding a fit that matches your favorite emojis.
