The OG Air Jordan 6 kicks cemented their place in basketball history when MJ wore them during his first NBA championship run in 1991. Since they were first retroed in 2010, there have been dozens of retros released, and another Retro 6 is dropping this month!

The women’s exclusive “Gold Hoops” colorway launches July 1.

The word “hoops” here is a bit duplicitous in meaning. Sure, it’s a timeless basketball symbol, but it also becomes literal with three golden hoops—inspired by hoop earrings—hanging off the top hole of the laces.

Affixed to the smallest hoop is a flashy gold Jumpman logo that will catch all the light as you’re speeding past your opponents on the court. Other gold accents pop on the heel pull and lace toggle for a shoe that looks just as majestic as it feels. A cutout in the tongue pulls the whole look together.

Other than these flourishes fit for a queen, you’ll find the rest of the shoe is pretty neutral. White and cream leather overlays cover the upper, which is spattered with venting along the side and ankle. In the outsole, you’ll notice a translucent rosy window into the Air unit inside, along with soft flecks of a rosy color throughout.

Like all Jordan shoes, the AJ 6 Retro offers soft and lightweight cushioning that gives you extra bounce and padding along the heel and forefoot. This makes it perfect to wear to your next big game or when kicking it with your friends.

The Jordan 6 Retro “Gold Hoops” colorway drops online and in stores on July 1 exclusively in women’s sizes. As one of the hottest sneaker releases of the year, pairs won’t be up for grabs for long. Want to know how to give yourself your best chance at bagging some for yourself?
