Support Her Sole - A For Women, By Women Production

Aug 26, 2021

We Support Her Sole. Join us for Eps. 1 & 2 of our latest collab with Nike & Nice Kicks, “Support Her Sole,” a community empowerment and giveback series made by women, for women.

Support Her Sole
Episode 1
Nike and Hibbett Sports teams up with Nice Kicks to present Support Her Sole, a new mini-series that takes us on a tour around the country to highlight women in sneakers. The show was written, cast, produced, and edited by an all-female team - the first of its kind in this space.

Entrepreneur and lifestyle blogger, Jasmine Sweet, serves as the host of the series and introduces us to the different torchbearers of the industry. Our first stop is in Houston, Texas where we meet Tausha Sanders, the founder of Her Grails -- a platform that celebrates women by bringing them together for sneaker-centered events. Up next, we get to know Melissa Chanel, the founder of Kicks & Fros. With education and entertainment in mind, Kicks & Fros supports black women that are making a space for themselves within the sneaker community.

As the series continues, we’ll get to know more about the business-building and barrier-breaking women that are leading the pack. With industry trailblazers like Aleali May, Chitose Abe, and Rihanna shaking up the sneakersphere over the past few years, it’s time we start to look to the women in our local sneaker communities that are pushing the culture forward.

Support Her Sole
Episode 2
In Episode 2 of Support Her Sole, series host, Jasmine Sweet, gives us a breakdown of how the supporting women in her life have helped her turn her passion into a business, provide for her family, and create a legacy for generations to come. These are the types of bridges that we hope to build for the women featured throughout the Support Her Sole series and beyond.

Episode 2 features Nia Symone and Bianca DeRousse, two leading women in the world of sportswear and media. Nia Symone is a former D1 Basketball player from Alabama State University and is currently the host of Nike’s YouTube series “Come Thru.” Similar to Nia, Bianca DeRousse is a mover-and-shaker in media and hosts a weekly women-centered Instagram live series called #SneakerSundays. Both Nia and Bianca use their platforms to tell the stories of women, by women and for women — because at the end of the day, women supporting women is the only way through.

More from Support Her Sole
Support does not exist without connection – connection to your community, your creative source and yourself. In today’s world the weight on our shoulders, on women’s shoulders, to “fit in” is heavy, but through sports, fashion and creativity, women and young girls are finding the joy in being different. We want to encourage Gen-Z girls and millennial women to knock down boundaries and create their own through self-expression and being themselves.
