It’s Sandals and Slides Season! Shop These Must-Have Styles

Apr 23, 2021

Warmer weather is here, which means it’s officially sandals and slides season! From trendy early-2000s-inspired platforms and Gen-Z’s favorite Crocs to poolside PUMA slides, Birkenstock sandals and chic UGG slip-on shoes — we’ve lined up our picks of must-have styles of spring and summer 2021.

UGG Fluff Yeah & Oh Yeah Slides

Take it from the streetwear fashion footwear experts at Hibbett | City Gear: flimsy flip flops with uncomfortable hard plastic straps and thin foam footbeds are out, and UGG slides are IN. Two of our favorite styles in this season’s UGG slides and sandals lineup are the UGG Fluff Yeah and UGG Oh Yeah models.

The Fluff Yeah style combines a slipper and sandal into one statement shoe crafted from super-soft sheepskin and a flexible yet secure plush band at the heel. A lightweight platform keeps the Fluff Yeah slide airy while its various vibrant colorways keep it stylish all season long. This UGG sandal style comes in solid color variations like “Rock Rose,” black, “Charcoal” and “Mystic Blue”, as well as mixed color palettes like the line’s Pollen/Blue, Pink/Purple and “Poppy” Orange colorways.

The UGG Oh Yeah is an evolution of the iconic Fluff Yeah slide, incorporating a strappy silhouette for warm weather. But don’t worry, the Oh Yeah UGG slide still features the same soft sheepskin and versatile outdoor outsole as the original. Find it in fun colors like “Soft Amythest,” “Light Blue,” orange and black and purple “Tie-Dye”!

Crocs Classic & Bae Platform Clogs

Once upon a time, back when Facebook was the “it” social media platform and Razr flip phones were the most futuristic phones imaginable, Crocs were considered ugly and the complete opposite of cool. But in 2021, the Motorola Razr is back in the cell game, Facebook is again in the spotlight thanks to the popularity of Instagram and Crocs aren’t just cool, they’re cute too.

Classic Crocs, the ones that started the Crocs-are-cool trend back in the day, are great shoes for spring and summer because they are lightweight, easy to care for, breathable, and available in dozens of colors. Wear the rainbow in solid yellow, “Slate,” black, “Pistachio,” lavender, “Lime Zest” and “Pepper Red” Crocs Classic Clogs or patterned “Digital Aqua,” white/purple/blue “Leopard,” “Splatter,” “Cloud” and “Multi-Stripe” Crocs for men, women and kids.

This slides season, Hibbett | City Gear is also stocking up on Crocs Bae and Classic Platform Clogs. Both styles feature the traditional Crocs clog upper you know and love, but fixes it atop elevated outsoles for a next-level look. The Platform Clog offers a slimmer, sleeker silhouette and a high-rise outsole measuring 1.6-inches (41mm) in height. The Crocs Bae style raises the bar even further with its 2.4-inch (60mm) ultra-contoured outsole.

Oh! And let’s not forget that all three Crocs Clog styles can be personalized with Jibbitzª charms like the Crocs Fan 3-pack, Sunny Days and Foodie 5-packs, and single Jibbitzª mermaid tail, peace and alien charms.

Birkenstock Sandals

Treat your feet this spring with a pair (or several pairs) of Birkenstock sandals. Like Crocs, Birkenstock shoes have had a bad rap in the past for being hipster or dad shoes. But not anymore. In fact, many Birkenstock styles have become high-fashion and streetwear style icons, earning features in Vogue and seen on the feet of A-list celebs like Kendal Jenner, Lisa Bonet, Chris Pine, Usher and Jason Mamoa.

We’ve jumped right on the bandwagon with the rest of the world, and this sandals season you can catch our favorite sneakerheads, sneakeristas and aspiring footwear influencers lounging by the pool in Birkenstock EVA sandals and Tik Tok’ing in their sustainably sourced cork Arizona slip-ons.

Both styles employ Birkenstock’s signature anatomically-shaped Birkenstock Footbed that provides exceptional full-length support tech, a roomy toe box and a deep-pocketed insole that cradles the heel for improved stability, circulation and comfort. Both styles also come in fresh, fun colors including “Black/Poppy,” “Watermelon,” “Camo,” yellow, blue, red, and metallic.

The biggest difference between them though is that Birkenstock EVA sandals are made specifically for wear in wet areas like the beach, the splash pad and the waterpark. Cork styles, on the other hand, can be damaged if exposed to water and should be worn in dry settings to ensure they stay intact and looking as great as the day you got them all spring and summer long.

PUMA, Nike and adidas Slides

Naturally, we can’t write a sandals and slip-on shoe story without giving at least an honorable mention to classic slides styles like Nike’s Victori One, Benassi and Kawa slides; adidas’ Adilette unisex slip-ons and PUMA’s spring lineup of Cool Cat sandals all available for men and women and in toddler, preschool and grade school kids’ sizes.
